Artist:
Dao-Ming CHUANG is an artist proficient in using acrylic paint and masking tape for his creations. His works are characterized by rich and diverse color variations that harmonize with each other. The dynamic interplay of dots, lines, and planes infuses his compositions with energy—sometimes deep, sometimes exuberant, and sometimes as delicate as a gossamer thread.
Artist Statement:
I am someone who habitually documents life through ephemeral moments. I appreciate how each day is both repetitive and a new beginning. My paintings are similar to these ephemeral/real-time records, using a large number of irregular fragments, symbolic icons, and decorative totems to depict the immediate sensations of life. Therefore, each work has a unique visual tone.
There is only one symbol that repeatedly appears at the center of every piece: the star. The star, hanging high in the sky, represents something unattainable yet always guiding people's steps throughout history. Thus, I place a star at the center of every work. These stars are all the same star, symbolizing the guidance of life, akin to faith, becoming a pathway in daily life. For me, this path is Jesus.
