WITHoutARTgalerie

WITHoutARTgalerie is a gallery located in Strasbourg (France) and dedicated to Contemporary Art and Modern Art. It opened in June 2016 under the direction of Marc Sun.

WITHoutARTgalerie aims to present works of high artistic quality. Artworks exhibited at the gallery relate to writing, gestures, traces, black and white, colors.

Priority is given to artists working to redefine the art of calligraphy and implementing writing as painting or painting as writing.

WITHoutARTgalerie is an intercultural project which aims to build bridges between Asia and Europe. Since the beginning, the gallery was conceived as nomadic on a global scale. Most of the artists represented by the gallery have lived or stayed in Asia and each of them offers a unique perspective on the contemporary world based on acute knowledge of non-European cultures.

Until now, the gallery has exhibited works by historical figures such as Hans Hartung and Henri Michaux, major artists of the Chinese scene such as Chen Danqing and Liu Yi, artists of European culture who have forged strong links with the Asian world such as Andre Kneib, Claire Illouz and Martin Salazar.
