The Czech Centre Taipei was opened in 2024 and is part of the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei. It is located near the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper, in a district that serves as a hub for business and culture. The Centre primarily fosters dialogue with the Taiwanese public and systematically works not only to raise awareness about the Czech Republic but also to deepen mutual understanding between our two distinct cultures. It regularly organizes cultural and educational events such as exhibitions, film screenings, theater and dance performances, lectures, and workshops, with special attention given to design, film, literature, innovation, and gaming.
The Centre also creates and offers opportunities for artistic residencies as well as curatorial and journalistic trips for the local arts and cultural sphere. Czech Centre Taipei presents the Czech Republic to the Taiwanese public and media as a modern and dynamic country. It organizes its own events tailored to the specifics and interests of the Taiwanese audience, collaborates with prominent cultural institutions across Taiwan, and supports exchange projects.
