Platinum printing represents my self-practice in photography. This method has evolved since the 19th century and deserves to have a modern appearance today. At this stage, I use digital intervention to bring a contemporary look to platinum printing, hoping that alternative techniques will not be overwhelmed by digital technology, but rather be carried forward by its advancement. The "Misty Forest" series captures the millennium-old giant trees on this island. These trees bear the marks of time, and by documenting their presence, I seem to also record the millennia of accumulation. Even these thousand-year-old trees experience life, aging, sickness, and death. When I use my camera to document these ancient trees, I observe the accumulation of time, feel the passage of time, become aware of my own existence, and realize my own insignificance. Time keeps flowing, unstoppable, but the accumulation of time, it seems, can be witnessed.
