NKSIN specializes in the use of anachronism, whereby classical characters are dressed in iconic teenage objects, such as wireless headphones, T-shirts, and sneakers, to fully demonstrate the fusion of classical connotations and contemporary street culture. NKSIN, who is of Japanese and Filipino descent, faced confusion and challenges in his identity during his growing up process. As a teenager, he felt confused about the world, but through continuous self-exploration and reflection, he transformed his experience into the energy of art creation, and used his unique point of view to raise questions about modern social phenomena and contemporary street culture through a humorous and ironic approach to art creation. He uses his unique point of view to reflect and interrogate modern social phenomena and interpersonal interactions through the use of humor and irony in his works.
