The work “Playmates” is composed of colorful blocks, depicting seven game pieces of various shapes, sizes, and colors distributed across a game board. Bings uses the symbolic game board to explore the subtle dynamics between competition and cooperation, challenging viewers to rethink the true participants in the game. Blurring the boundaries between teams and individuals, “Playmates” prompts viewers to consider whether the game pieces are allies or competitors and suggesting possible alliances among them.
