Data Verse Taipei

The rapidly changing world of the internet, information overload, mass worship, and absurd combinations of unrelated elements—an all-encompassing, inescapable web. **Project Data-Verse** constructs a digital-rooted, non-physical super-ecosystem. Data-Verse Taipei employs this ecosystem, focusing on the exhibition location—Taipei—as its theme. It captures vast amounts of locally relevant internet data and tens of thousands of web-based data points, using them as parameters for the artwork’s transformation. Information such as Taipei’s rainfall, temperature, and internet phenomena are displayed in real time within the work. Viewers can also interact with the piece via a QR code embedded in the images and receive a unique, real-time generated visual image. The physical body, enveloped by virtual images, finds itself close yet strangely distant, as the complex and unfamiliar world of the internet is recreated here.
