- Depiction: "Domineering the World", the large oil painting in 12 meters, represents a transformation in themes of my paintings over the past few years. I’ve been brewing ideas about Genghis Khan after the painting "Princess Wencheng" finished last year. Most of my works were about the earthy nostalgia and the Tibetan charms. This is my first time in painting such a significant historical figure, which requires not only a well understanding of the history context, but also the ability to master the overall presentation! Shifting from the Tibetan to Mongolian themes is a brand-new field for me, an attempt and more a trial ! After determining my creative intent, I decided to visit some museums and the related historical sites, to gather further detailed historical materials for a better implementation of my creative plan, in hopes of provoking some inspiration for my painting. Over a month, this journey has truly broadened my horizons, enriched my knowledge, and further established my creative direction and stylistic positioning. Especially visiting various places in Inner Mongolia, I personally experienced the valiant spiritual core and cultural tension of the nomadic people, a different kind of spiritual feast.Fights and killings are powerful genes flowing deep in the blood of the Mongolian people, a kind of iron-willed spirit of bravery and fearlessness in seeking for survival, a soul belief given to the nomadic people by the Immortal God.
