Enso is a motif that represents Zen paintings.
For me, it is also a motif that evokes the beauty of four seasons.
In my artwork, it is painted with gold leaf and the Ryukyu rock pigments which is my field of research. By scraping away the thickly applied mineral pigments, I created a matiere that resembles a mural of a ruin that has changed over time.
The scenery I expressed in my painting is a space. A rising dragon, the god of water is also depicted. This is a piece of artwork that has a bright and festival-like ambiance.
The support medium is a silk. The hanging scrolls at Zen temples inspired me to create this artwork.
