LIN Yu-Ju was born in Taipei City and graduated from the Craft and Design Department of National Taiwan University of Arts. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Fine Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts. LIN Yu-Ju uses raw lacquer as a base layer, which she primes and polishes. She then mixes mineral pigments with raw lacquer for coloring, and incorporates materials such as mother-of-pearl inlay and gold leaf to add multiple layers of artistic expression to her works. The production and creation process is intricate and lengthy.
She was the first prize winner of the second "Go To Taiwan - Visual Arts Selection Competition." She has been running a lacquerware studio in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, for many years. LIN Yu-Ju has participated in several group exhibitions at Apollo Art Gallery and has exhibited at Art Taipei twice. At this year's Art Taipei, her lacquer paintings from 2022/23 will be showcased.
