Chou Tai-Chun was born in Hsinchu, Taiwan in 1986. He received his MFA degree in painting from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2012. His artworks are included in various domestic and international museums. He currently lives and works in Taiwan.
From Chou’s earlier series of works since 2011, such as Globe Silent, Beyond the Silence, and Beyond the Mountains to the series more recent, Chou Tai-Chun has been gradually constructing a unique visual experience and imagination manifesting his generation. Developing from paintings to installations, he continues exploring issues relating to the conflict between human interventions and nature. Chou borrows a wide range of Taiwan's industrial history and terrain changes to his time theme to examine the cultural changes during the century.
He participated in International Artists Residency Exchange Program at OCI Museum in Seoul, Korea and BankART Studio NYK in Yokohama, Japan in 2017 and exhibited his works in 2018. In recent years, Chou’s works have been exhibited worldwide, such as at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Yinchuan in China, Art Basel Hong Kong 2023, Art Düsseldorf in Germany, and Taiwan Contemporary Art in Washington, D.C. His artworks are collected by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei Fine Arts Museum and White Rabbit Gallery in Sydney.
