"I create works that provide people with a dwelling for dreams, not only connecting to the past but also serving as a foundation for courageously pursuing their dreams."
Tadakazu Maeda graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University in Japan, using human figures as the starting point for his creations. He draws inspiration from fragments of life memories, using elements from childhood landscapes, animals, and nature, to human interactions, and cultural memories across different races and regions. He favors using carving tools to retain the traces of woodwork, emphasizing the direct dialogue between the work and the artist.
