Born in 1977 in Taipei, Xi Shi-Bin graduated from the Institute of Formation Studies of the National Taipei University of the Arts in 2007 and now lives and works in Taipei. He is an outstanding artist with a dual professional background in architecture and art who has gained international attention in recent years. In his works, one can see the rationality of architecture and the sensual beauty of art. He specializes in the use of stainless steel, coated composite media, and other materials to create his works. Through the complex deconstruction and construction of everyday objects, historical buildings, and Western myths, and the fusion of classical anatomy and traditional craftsmanship, he creates an aesthetic that is compatible with mythological imagery, literary poetry, and science and technology, creating works that are both gorgeous and deeply tense.
Shibin has been selected for numerous public art, international exchange and art awards, including the 2011 Taipei International Art Fair MIT Newcomer Recommendation Special Zone, the 2012 Asian Cultural Council Fellowship Program, and the 2014 Taipei Songtan Cultural and Creative Building Public Art. His works have been exhibited at the China Art Museum in Beijing, Today Art Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, Haslla Art World in Korea, and Headlands Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Xi Shibin is also one of the artists who has been involved in both art creation and fashion design. He has been invited to present his artworks in collaboration with international brands such as Taiwan's Donghe Steel Corporation, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Audemar s Piguet.
