Born in 1972 in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from the Department of Art and Design, plastic Arts and Mixed Media at Tsukuba University in 1995. Specialises in creating large-scale artworks that involve mechanical movements. Specifically, creates spin crocodiles, retracting bears, climbing mountains, cloth that makes the sound 'BATABATA, weighty sculptures without fractions, exaggeratedly open switches, continuously moving shapes or letters, devices that strike ten times, installations that maximize space usage, and pieces inspired by a line from a first-year junior high school English textbook: 'Hi, Kumi. Hi, Mike.' These artworks are created and exhibited.
