Hong Ling was born in Beijing in 1955 and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1987. He now lives and works in Beijing and Anhui Province. Hong Ling's works have not only attracted the attention of Asian collectors, but he has also represented Chinese artists twice at the Venice Biennale and held a two-year world tour in 2015, and his large-scale “Symphony of the Four Seasons” has been honored to be included in the permanent collection of the National Grand Theater of China. Hong Ling's works are in the collection of Lin Baili (President of Taiwan's famous collectors' society “Qingwan Yaji”) and other top 100 collectors in the world. Other public collections include the Xiamen Hall of the BRICS Conference, the National Art Museum of China, the Aurora Museum, the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, the Bitey Library in Chester, Dublin, the Hangzhou G20 Conference Hall, the KWD Foundation, the Sheng Ming Cultural and Educational Foundation, and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation, among others.
