Born in Taiwan, Hsin-Ying LIU (b.1991) received her training at the Art Students League of New York in 2013 and graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2015 with a BFA. Currently based in Malaysia and travels between Taiwan and Malaysia.
Hsin-Ying LIU condenses the rhythm of life and abstract feelings into a narrative of whispering, sign, and strength. Her paintings reshape "reality, nature, and humanity" from a delicate yet bold perspective while contemplating the structure of the relationship with surroundings. Her artworks echo civilization’s infinite inner imagination through the scenery's cuts and capture. The flowing lines with her paintbrush and the use of different media enable the self-consciousness to be vividly revealed as if humans on the vast land keep building things upwards, piling up the symbols of civilization layer after layer. The warmth and determination of the very pure soul can be found in LIU's vocabulary of her creations.
LIU's works have been displayed in numerous international exhibitions, including Richard Koh Fine Art in Malaysia (2024), AKI Gallery in Taiwan (2023), Richard Koh Fine Art in Singapore (2021), Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in Kaohsiung (2019), G13 Gallery in Malaysia (2020) but also included in the Collection of Louis Vuitton at the Gardens Mall in Malaysia (2019). She was awarded the Kaohsiung Award of KMFA (2019) and bestowed with the Outstanding Art Prize of Creation from the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (2015).
