Huang Chiu-Yue was born in Taichung City and graduated from the Department of Art Education at National Hsinchu Teachers College (now National Tsing Hua University). She has won several first prizes, including the Provincial Art Exhibition First Prize, the Public Art Exhibition First Prize, and the 55th National Oil Painting Exhibition First Prize. She has been invited to participate in numerous art exchange exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
Huang Chiu-Yue creates in an abstract expressionist style, drawing inspiration from the complex narratives of daily life and the overlapping of the inner universe of life. Her work explores and transcends the emotional interplay within her inner world, oscillating between movement and stillness, repeatedly seeking breakthroughs, and achieving sublimation. In 2020, she held a solo exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Apollo Art Gallery first hosted her solo exhibition in 1997, and to date, she has had four solo exhibitions there. At this year's Art Taipei, her paintings from 2022/23 will be showcased.
