Chihiro Nagashima

Chihiro Nagashima was born in Shizuoka in 1983. She showed her talent at early stage of her career - such as winning prize at TOKYO WONDER WALL 2004 while she was still studying oil painting at Kyoto Saga University of Arts. After graduation, she received first prize at TOKYO WONDER WALL 2007. She has held a solo exhibition in Tokyo and Kansai. In 2017, she held a solo exhibition at “KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL” at Kitano Tenmangu in Kyoto, and recently participated in overseas art fairs and worked as an art direction for sweets brands. She also actively participated in various activities at home and abroad. Chihiro Nagashima weaves delicate and sensuous motifs into her paintings with her delicate brushing. She uses the exquisite painting techniques of Japanese paintings, changed brushes of different thickness and multi-layered and various acrylic paints, sketched children or animals on Japanese paper and transformed into many beautiful paintings with different world views. These beautiful painting are the scenes which appears like the blinking lights in her head every day. These scenes are fragments of the world through her eyes that are store directly in her head. Then she paints these scenes on the canvas and imaging she could get the real answers for all the doubts in this world. She pinned beauty and pray in painting. Romantic children and meticulous backgrounds correspond to each other, transformed into beautiful paintings with different world views.
