HUANG Chih-Cheng was born in Miaoli and graduated from the Master’s Program in Fine Arts at Tunghai University. He has been selected by the Ministry of Culture as an MIT (Made in Taiwan) Newcomer Recommended Artist and has won several awards, including the Tainan New Art Award, the Kaohsiung Award, the 10th Taoyuan Creation Award, and the New Taipei City Creation Newcomer Award. His works are part of the collections of the Tainan Art Museum and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. He has been invited to exhibit at the Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art in Nantou and the Tsukuba Museum of Art in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
HUANG Chih-Cheng combines delicate ink brushwork with mixed media, including images, and presents them on metal foil, giving his works a distinctive metallic texture. By utilizing the reflective properties of foil under light, he creates a subtle depiction of reality, attempting to explore the complex and contradictory interdependence between humans and nature. He weaves fragments of daily life into his creations. At this year's Art Taipei, his 2023 works will be showcased.
