DAI Bih-In was born in Pingtung, Taiwan, and graduated from the National Academy of Arts (now National Taiwan University of Arts). In 1975, he held a solo exhibition at the Taiwan Provincial Museum. He then went to Spain for further studies, where his work was selected for the International Miró Prize. He has participated in Art Basel in Switzerland and ARCO in Spain multiple times.
DAI Bih-In has researched ancient Eastern papermaking techniques, and after extensive experimentation, he produced paper suitable for expressing his style. He then created works in an abstract expressionist style, achieving effects that transcend conventional painting techniques. Since the 1990s, he has held numerous solo exhibitions at Apollo Art Gallery and frequently exhibited at the Art Taipei. At this year's Art Taipei, the gallery plans to showcase his paintings from the 1990s.
