Eguchi continues to work on the theme of harmonising linguistically conflicting elements such as loveliness and eeriness, life and death, that exist in this world. Her works, painted in highly saturated colours, depict strange scenes from an imaginary, fantastical world, such as adorable "stuffed" bear-like creatures and colorful mushrooms. However, in certain areas, their flesh and blood are painted in details, and we are reminded that the illustrated world is actually just as same as the world we live in; full of contradictions.
Seeing Eguchi’s works with thick surface layer of paint on the canvas, the ridges and vibrations, and the glossy, light-coloured coating will fascinate our vision.
