Caves Gallery was established in 1983, specializing primarily in contemporary ink painting. Representing prominent artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait such as Feng-mian Lin, Keran Li, Shao-ang Zhao , Shan-shen Yang, Zhao-shen Jiang, You-fu Jia, Jiay-ing He, and Yi-hong Li. In the 1990s, it expanded its scope to include Chinese oil painters including We-liang Yan, Yu-Ben, Yong-qiao Du, Shan-yu Hu, Wan-Hao, Da-chuan Lin, Sha-Qi, Weiyin Ren , Yi-fu Fei , Guan-zhong Wu, and Tian-ci Su . The gallery has earned significant recognition and reputation in art history, art market, and academia across Taiwan, mainland China, and Hong Kong. Currently, it focuses on representing young contemporary artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, such as Taiwan's Xiao-Yu, Shih-hou Chen , Shi-wei Wu, Xavier Wei, Hong-jin Shen, Ji-yi Zeng ; and China's Xiang-hua Liu, Yi Ling,Wei-zhou Liang , Ma Nan, among others. With its rich experience in art management, the gallery aims to lead outstanding artists from both sides towards the international stage.
