Lee Soeul was born in Busan in 1983. After graduating from Dong-A University Department of Fine Arts in 2008, Lee participated in various solo and groups exhibitions in Seoul, Busan, and Tokyo, and was even invited to join the artist in residence program “Air 3331” by 3331 Arts Chiyoda in 2018. Lee’s first collaboration with Rich Art is in 2022, and it was also the very first time the artist’s works are showcased in Taiwan. Through her artistic practice, Lee Soeul expresses that “My hope is that the animals that have been forgotten by people, either in the woods or in the city, will have their happy endings in my paintings.” Inspired by issues in animal conservation, Lee integrates ancient mythology to present a unique and magical world. In the world of Lee, “Mimyohae,” the guardian spirit of forests, becomes a starting point that leads to countless enchanting anecdotes.
