Stacking the Depths of Life with Colors
Graduating from the Printmaking Department of Tama Art University in 1998, I have always been fascinated by the untransformed, still vulnerable parts within us, the parts that have yet to mature into towering adults. I aim to create narrative-rich artworks that allow viewers to find reflections of their own experiences within them. Utilizing the intaglio technique in woodblock printing, I prefer this method as it preserves the natural characteristics of the materials.
The depth of life is layered with human memories, allowing the ordinary to retain its original flavor—subtle yet profoundly impactful. By revisiting childhood memories, I seek to evoke reflections on life. While childhood memories may not fully encompass my creations, they inexplicably guide me, becoming an indelible source of inspiration.
