William has always had an affinity for trees; he grew up in the Rocky Mountains, surrounded by forests, and he spent summers during his university years in the same mountains, planting more than 300,000 trees. Humanity uses trees for so many things in daily life, but few people pause to think where their notebook, bed frame, matchstick, or tissue came from. Using largely tree products, including wood, sumi ink, paper, and resin, Brad hopes to capture nature imagery and draw a connection between found, everyday objects and the forests from which they are made.
