Utilizing traditional powder decoration techniques, I combine the texture of red clay with unique character images to create distinctive works. After considering the personality of the characters, I first create a story and then proceed with the illustration. My goal is to create picture books that stimulate the imagination of the users.
These works use the traditional "powder glaze" technique, which involves applying fine white clay over rough red clay to highlight its texture. By scraping off the white clay, illustrations are created on the surface.
Since childhood, I have enjoyed visiting various pottery markets with my mother, who loves ceramics. Touching different types of pottery and selecting my favorite pieces was one of the joys of my childhood. During breaks from my work as a graphic designer, I participated in pottery-making workshops. The joy of molding clay and creating things with my own hands reignited my passion, leading me to pursue a career as a ceramic artist.
