Ko Shih Chung born in Nantou, Taiwan, in 1966, graduated from the Department of Western Painting at the National Academy of Arts in 1987, and obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in the United States in 1991. From 1994 to 2019, he served as the Director of the Art Center and a Professor in the Department of Cultural Creativity and Design at Nan Kai University of Technology. He has also frequently served as a judge for major art exhibitions such as the Dadun Fine Arts Exhibition, Yushan Fine Arts Exhibition, and the National Fine Arts Exhibition.
Ko Shih Chung held his first solo exhibition at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in 1990, and subsequently received recognition with a second-place award in oil painting at the National Fine Arts Exhibition and the Nanying Award. Over the past 30 years, he has held more than a hundred solo and group exhibitions. His works are collected by institutions such as the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Tainan Cultural Center, Nantou County Cultural Bureau, and Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art.
Ko Shih Chung focuses on natural landscapes as his creative theme, showcasing the unique artistic charm of form, color, and line through the interplay of lines in his paintings. Throughout his creative process, he continually experiments, attempting to capture the rhythm of nature. With meticulous observation and unrestricted brushstrokes, he presents the authenticity and liveliness of nature. Ko Shih Chung's works reflect his free creative attitude, allowing viewers to perceive beauty and strength in the ordinary.
